1967 Cub Cadet 102
This tractor was bought since it was such a good deal I could not let it pass. It was pure luck I found the Craigslist add advertising the tractor for $100 in time, since there was bound to be a ton of interest in it. It was not running when we picked it up, but it came with extras like new decals for a 122 (more on that later), a 48 in deck in nice shape, some paint from the dealer, and other misc parts like belts.
The motor is a replacement 12 horsepower engine which was quickly up and running after getting it home. For this reason the previous owner was going to restore it as a 122, which is what the tractor technically is right now. When I get around to restoring it, however, I will be putting a 10 horsepower engine back in it since I would like to keep it original. This will end up working out nicely, however, since we have a nice 123 that just needs a motor. The 12 horse is original for that, so by switching this motor out we actually complete another tractor we have with a nice newer engine that is still the original style for it.
The tractor is just a basic machine in need of restoration. I have always like this series' styling, which helps in pushing it ahead of other projects. It will be a long time before it is restored, however, since I will most likely do the 123 at the same time. There are many more interesting projects that are ahead of this, but when I do start on this, you will hear about it here.
